What started of as a gery morning and a little restlessness in the changing rooms, turned out to be a sunny and victorious day for the Hawks. Because of the high pressure from the start, Hawks were mostly present on Oxford Uni's part of the pitch. There would be a few break outs but with Lucy and Rebecca as strong defenders, Oxford Uni 3s did not stand a chance. With great leading on the left side of the pitch Dizzy got control of the ball at the circle line, and with a hit it ended up very neatly in the far corner of the goal. This probably woke the opponent up and made us underestimate them because not all to long they managed to get a goal. Chaos was present and we had to reform ourselves after their goals. Hawks kept fighting and with a lot of ball possesion and again, wonderful leading towards the goal. There was a nice hit from outside of the D which led to a pentalty. Dizzy took it and scored!!
With some positive energy from Catherine (like always) and a pep-talk from Jacs the second half was entered with an energyboost. Which led the Hawks to a lot of chances of scoring. Unfortunately the goalkeeper from Oxford Uni had some very good stops.
There were many short corners the second half. From one of them Rachael was in a good rebound possition and when the ball came her way, she scored. The energy remained high and the team feeling come forward more than in the first half. We got to know the different possitions everyone was playing and we found each other on the pitch. Less chaos than in the first half made Hawks play strong until the end. Another win for ladies 4s!
