Hawks Ladies 2s travelled along the road to Henley and got the start they were hoping for when Emily Wilkins converted the penalty flick opportunity, making it 5 goals in 5 games for Em and a lovely 1-0 lead. However this did not last long and just before half time, Henley scored from a penalty corner making it 1-1.
Hawks went into the 2nd half, knowing they had to lift their game but Henley scored again making it 2-1. It took until the final 10 minutes of the game for Hawks to play the sort of hockey they are capable of but by then it was a wee bit too late. Man of the match, Meg Smith had a great game at FB and prevented Henley from scoring any further goals, as well as supporting the attacking play.
The ladies 2s worked until the final whistle and were really unlucky not to score from their final penalty corner of the game.
