The Ladies 2s were keen to get a good start at PHC Chiswick 1s and got their wish when Emily Wilkins scored after two minutes, after some great play from Lex Thomas who used her skilful ways to get past 3 Chiswick players and then played a dangerous ball into the D for Emily to deflect past the GK. Chiswick scored two minutes later and by half time the score was 3-1 to Chiswick. Not a good time for the Ladies 2s.

After some wise words from Rory Phibbs and Sue Clark, the 2s went into the 2nd half raring to go. Although Hawks started brightly, it was Chiswick who got the 1st goal of the 2nd half making the score 4 -1. Hawks had an awful lot to do but were definitely up for the challenge. One minute later, the 2s ladies scored their 2nd goal with a great move starting from Jess Madden-Waite at right half and ending with Emma Hunter slotting the ball calmly past the Chiswick GK. Two minutes later, Emily Wilkins popped up for her 7th goal in 6 games, making it 4-3 to Chiswick.

With 23 minutes to go, Hawks were very much back in the game. Every Hawks player worked tirelessly and Chiswick were constantly under pressure throughout this time. Man of the match, April Bedford worked particularly hard and had a great game, preventing Chiswick from getting into the Hawks D and also making many surging runs forward, supporting the attacking play.

The score ended 4-3 to Chiswick, Hawks can be really proud of their 2nd half performance but look forward to playing really well for 70 minutes next week.
