Oxford Hawks made the short journey down the A34 to face Trojans, and came away empty handed despite many positives all over the pitch. The first half was a good battle, with chances falling at both ends, but Trojans edged it 1-0 after a goalmouth scramble was pounced on by their centre forward.
In the second half Hawks stepped up a gear and enjoyed the lions share of possession, but couldn't convert some clear cut chances. They were punished after ten minutes when Trojans defended well from a penalty corner and broke quickly down the left. They played the ball to their centre forward who finished well on her reverse from the top of the area. Hawks continued to push forwards and threatened a number of times, with Gemma Darrington and Becky Odlin causing all sorts of problems for Trojans, but they were punished right at the death as home side added another against the run of play.
