Ladies' 6s beaten by Banbury in last friendly before League

17 September 2016, 14:00, Banbury School

Ladies' 6s 1 - 2 Banbury Ladies 4s

The Ladies 6's started the season on fine form with Katie, Emma, Alice and Jade making their debut in this team. Although Banbury are a higher division Hawks held them to a 0-0 draw at half time thanks to some solid defending from Jan, Alice and Katie and some excellent saves from Maya in goal.

Unfortunately shortly into the second half we had a goal disallowed as it was said that we were outside the "D", we are investigating the possibility of video referrals so watch this space!

Having gone a goal down from a short corner we then fought back and after an impressive feed through from Captain Becky, Dette managed to convert this into a goal to put us at 1-1. Hawks had another goal disallowed which was unlucky. A little later Banbury scored another goal to take the lead but Hawks did well to hold them off to leave a final score of 2-1 to Banbury. At the very end of the match Hawks had 4 short corner chances but unfortunately couldn't come back with a goal. Well done to Bella who was Man of the match.
