In the last game of the season Hawks arrived at Iffley Road with a reduced squad due to the Easter holidays. With an inspired tactical approach taken by coach Imran, Hawks took to the pitch knowing that a disciplined approach was required to win.
The game started brightly with both teams looking to get forward where possible. The Hawks forwards took the initiative with multiple D entries and 2 short corners dispatched with ease by Jack Biggs coupled with a solid team performance meant Hawks went into half time 2-0 up.
Uni came out chasing the game in the second half leaving more space for the Hawks forward line to exploit. Hawks continued to dominate in the midfield and letting the forward line free. With Sam Chilvers picking up 3 goals, the pick of which coming from Dom Roche intercepting and trundling forward before taking the correct decision to pass giving Sam an open goal to score in.
With the game coming to a close, Jack picked up his 3rd goal from another corner before Uni scored a late consolation goal. Hawks saw out the remaining few minutes of the game with the Uni down to 10 players after their keeper saw yellow for a Pricey-esque out of D challenge.
Hawks finish the season on 38 points, their highest in this league for a number of years which provides a springboard for next season. The players would like to thank Imran and Neil for all their hard work this season.
