Ladies’ 6s lose gracefully to league leaders

Ladies' 6s 1 - 4 Wychwood Ladies 2s
It was always going to be a tough one. The only time Wychwood had lost was to us before Christmas. They hated that and the air was blue then.
Wychwood started strongly but with a few Hawks’ defensive errors were soon ahead by two goals to nil. We then got our act together and in the second quarter piled on the pressure. We then had 6 short corners in a row which we could not convert - despite practising them at training!
A half-time talk from captain Becky and coach Josh motivated the team. However Wychwood scored almost immediately. The one of the youngsters took the ball up the right wing and did a lovely cross to Linda who popped it past the keeper. The score was then 3-1 to Wychwood. They managed one more goal before the final whistle blew with the score 4-1.
Thanks must go to Jacs and Rachel for umpiring and Josh for coaching. Thanks also to our supporters who sadly included Purdy with a broken collar bone from a cycling accident.
Voting for man of the match was very close with Issy Gibson losing out by one vote to Maddie Dale. They both had excellent games.
