Glorious performance by the Mens 6's against a tough OMT

27 February 2016, 16:30, Banbury Road North (Near)

Men's 6s 4 - 2 OMT Men's 4s

This was a very enjoyable game, Princess (Josh) played a blinder and was the deserved MoM>

the game started with OMT very much on top, and it took a time for the more talented Hawks players to find their rythym...everyone else would eventually find theirs at some stage in the game...

Once Hawks got hold of the ball, the Midfield of Easterbrook, Gilman and Robbins started to make headway and became even better when Cairns and Rodders joined the party. Goals by Shambles and Cairns put Hawks 2-0 up at half time, although Princess had probably already earned his MoM by then!

In the second half, the OMT team started to get a bit raggy with themselves, as the rest of the HAwks team also found their mojo and played a really disciplined game. Hawks went 3-0 up by a goal from Rodders and all looked rosy....Then a few substitutions and a bit of relaxed play saw the OMT forwards strike back, and then after a few shorts, they got to 3-2...The wind had changed and sudddenly those magical 3 points looked in danger. More brilliant goal keeping, and then darby (aka Rich Venables or Han Solo...) managed a two footer to score the deciding goal, 4-2 and then game was ours.

All those not mentioned also played really well, and 3 points agaonts this team was a real plus.

It still looks a bit tight as the latest leagure predictions show 3 teams being relegated and we are still only 5 points clear of Bicester who are in that danger position....

the lovely South Bucks 1's next week.....
