A game of 2 halves for the Ladies 2s
27 February 2016
Ladies' 2s 0 - 4 Teddington Ladies' 1s
Hawks Ladies 2s travelled to Teddington for the return league match, full of hope following the win against Epsom two weeks ago.
The Ladies 2s started strongly, penetrating the attacking D, several times in the first 10mins.
Unfortunately, Hawks' efforts weren't rewarded despite on target strikes from Lex, and many short corners. However, Teddington proved strong in defence and on the counter attack. Just before half-time, Helen unluckily took a knock to her foot, which meant she could take no further active part in the match.
Early in the second half, Teddington converted one of their chances to take a 1-0 lead. Hawks battled back hard, with narrow misses from both Row and Lex. Man of the match, Emma Hunter who was playing half back today after playing up front for the last month showed how good she is, no matter where she is playing. Emma defended with great strength and composure while using her very speedy ways to get forward and offer support when the team were attacking.
10 mins before the end Teddington scored an opportunistic goal which set the tone for the remainder of the match and the final score was 4-0. However the Ladies 2s look forward to playing London Wayfarers on Saturday.
