Marlow overcome L5s in top of league clash

06 February 2016

Ladies' 5s 0 - 3 Marlow Ladies 3s

The game started well for Hawks with the majority of possession for the first 5 minutes or so and they had several half chances to score. Marlow soon got going and showed us why they were to of the league. Marlow soon went 1-0 up with a very soft goal conceded by Hawks. Marlow continued to dominate possession and threatened to score again but Hawks managed to contain them with tireless work from the defence and midfield. Unfortunately Hawks were unable to convert any of their pressure into goals and Marlow scored a second before half time.
After some stern, and positive, words at half time, Hawks picked up their game and had a much better second half. Marlow also picked up their game with excellent passing play and positioning. Hawks were unable to score off a couple of penalty corners and Marlow got a third goal 10 minutes from the end. In the end, a disappointing performance from the ladies 5s, who go on to play another tough game against Buckingham next week. Man of the match went to Kirsty for her tireless work in the midfield.
