It was important for the B team to get back on track, and with the return of Dominic Monroe as Captain and the colourful Oscar Irvine in midfield confidence was high. A return to the passing game seen in the 1st half of the season would ensure the game ended with a positive result.
However a stumbling start again saw possession given away and players driving into contact when a simple pass would be a better option. A tight first 20 minutes saw the Gerrards Cross right channel hosted by Hawks guests Ollie Paton and Ant Fox cause some problems.
However the team went ahead 4-0 at half time with Ollie Graham And Adam Byles causing problems with Kristian Nesbitt's pace on the right created good chances.
The goal tally increased in the second half as the team developed their patterns and moved the ball around to open up the defence. Goals were shared by Ollie Graham, Adam Byles, Matt Hardman, Henry Lyke-Dahn, Amar Madar, Oscar Irvine and Henry Vine.
The pick of the goals a shot struck into the roof of the net by Irvine.
It would be unfair to pick a man of the match as every-one contributed to a great team performance however Hamish Ferguson pulled the strings when in the centre of Midfield and the back 2 of Dominic Monroe and Matt Hardman were solid throughout. Finn Rumsby was called on to make some crucial stops in goal which he did with aplomb.
We should also mention the excellent work of Tom who played in Goal for Gerrards Cross and stepped in at the last minute. He was the Gerrard Cross Man of the Match. A big thank you Tom.
