Falcons remained top in a game that they should win but has always have been dfficult in the past. Haslemere gave Falcons little time on the ball and there were few chances in the first half, loanee goalkeeper Jim Felix dealt with anything quite comfortably with short corner shots and the odd break. The score remained 0 - 0 at half time.
The second half started with a few changes, Steve Griffiths moved to the right wing and John Black to the left. John Kaluza opened the scoring though a worked short corner and the added pace and width paid dividends as Phil Dunnill found Steve Griffiths on the right in space, Steve kept his head and passed square for Giles Roper to lift the ball over Jim Felix. The 2 goal lead was short lived as Haslemere immediately pulled a goal back.
The Falcons squandered some good chances to extend the lead before John Black completed the scoring and the game finished 3 - 1, probably a fair reflection on the game.
