Hawks 7ths came into the game with a kicking back and a few regulars missing which gave the Colts players within the team a chance to show their skills.
The midfield of Will Smith, Rory Bowden and Richard Walsh controlled most of the first half and chances fell to Smith, Fogden, Whitey and Chambers up front. As in the fixture at Hawks the Phoenix goal keeper was in good form and pulled off good saves.
The defence of Dunn, Warner (C) and Evans kept if tight, and protected the kicking back of Warner (R) with few dramas.
0-0 at halt time and Hawks felt the game slip away as a break found an opposition player in space in the D and the ball from a deflected push crossed the line.
The game pattern continued and again following a break Phoenix were awarded a short corner following a slightly harsh green card for Will Smith which they took advantage of to make it 2-0.
Dan Evans continued to show his strength at the back as breaks became more regular and the game finished at 2-0.
Overall a good experience with the wrong result, but a good spread supplied by the opposition at the Reading University canteen.
