The last game of 2015, only called for one thing; another victory! After a well fought game against Wycombe the previous weekend, the Ladies 3's continued their winning ways, with a 4-1 win against Bracknell.
Shortly into the first half, Gabs put Hawks into the lead, through executing a screamer of a shot, that roofed the top of the goal net. Minutes later, Harriet managed to score a well timed strike from the top of the D, to put Hawks 2-0 up. Nearing the end of the first half, Bracknell put pressure on the Hawks defence, which resulted in Bracknell narrowing the gap, to 2-1, just before the half time whistle.
Bracknell started the second half strongly, but a determined Hawks side rose to the challenge and stepped up the level, to ensure the three points were always in sight. Hawks were looking likely to grab a third, through creating plenty of attacking opportunities. Laura drove the ball from the half way line, passing the ball up the line to Kath Crook, who drove the ball across the baseline, to gain a short corner for the Hawks side. A fantastic straight strike from Captain Lizzie Siese, resulted in Hawks deservedly going up 3-1. Bracknell had moments of pressure in attack, but a composed Hawks defence relieved the pressure, to avoid conceding. In the last 10 minutes of the game, Hawks intercepted the ball in the midfield, to enable Olivia Strickland to drive the ball into the D for a one on one with the Bracknell keeper. With great control and composure, Olivia eliminated the keeper to slot the ball in the goal, for Hawks' forth goal of the game.
What a way to finish the first half of the season, with another well fought victory. The Ladies 3's now look forward to continuing their winning ways in the New Year, and hope that continued solid team performances and results can assist them in going beyond their current 5th place in the table.
