In a game which threatened to test the unbeaten run of the U14s B team, soon led to a romp to victory and a goal explosion which was matched by the firework display as the team left the Reading facility.
In a game which saw 13 goals scored against 1 conceded, which in itself was a solo effort from Readings best player, it is hard to maintain a level of intensity and concentration.
After a tight opening Hawks soon netted a couple as Reading were unable to match the pace of Adam Byles and Johnny Sunderland. Add into the mix the pace of Aaron Tyler Chamberlain and Kristian Nesbitt and you can understand why the Reading defence was chasing shadows. The Reading Man of the Match goal keeper was to be kept busy and in the early pressure held the score to a reasonable level.
However Byles, Sunderland and Tyler Chamberlain slotted home and then the goal feast began.
A free scoring performance does require stability at the back and Ed Murray and Mattie Hardman provided this with Murray picking up Man of the Match for Hawks. On the final re-count the tally was Byles 2, Sunderland 5, Tyler Chamberlain 2 and Freddie Smith 4.
The early passing and movement did slightly disappear as the goal numbers racked up and chances became available but it is unfair to be critical of a scintillating display of high pressing and clinical finishing. 7 wins out of 7!
