A Bear hair dryer and 6 goals in the 2nd half seals a fine win

29 November 2015

U14 Boys 7 - 0 Marlow U14 Boys

The under 14 A team were once again in sparkling form against Marlow but it took a half time hair drier team talk from coach Bear to spark them into action. Hawks played some fantastic hockey in the first half with Phil Barnett and Olly Doggett dominating. Unfortunately our finishing in front of goal was woeful and we squandered many chances. Shortly before half time Olly Doggett fired home a rebound into the roof of the net and apart from a couple of break away chances for the opposition it was the most one sided 1:0 you could wish to see.

The half time team talk concentrated on the positives of course but also pointed out that the finishing was somewhat lacking and that the ball deserved to be spanked into the back of the net.

Anyway the penny appeared to drop and hawks went on the rampage scoring four goals in the first ten minutes of the second half all scored by Freddie Smith.

Freddie Honeyman scored a good goal after some great wing play by Simon White and Freddie Smith finished the rout before the end with a ferocious half volley to secure a 7:0 victory. Freddie Smith was the man of the match but everybody played superbly. Bring on Surbiton
