Ladies' 3s back up to fifth place

28 November 2015, 11:30, Banbury Road North (Top)

Ladies' 3s 2 - 1 Aylesbury Ladies 1s

Hawks Ladies 3s came out raring to go and desperately wanting to put their disappointing result from last week behind them.

The game started evenly with positive play from the home side but a quick counter attack from the visitors and a very good finish left Hawks 1-0 down within the first 10 minutes.

Bottom of the table Aylesbury then put their team behind the ball and made it very difficult for Hawks to get through the dogged defence. Despite numerous creative short corners using Lizzie, Katie and Kath, Hawks couldn't find a way though and went in 1-0 down at half time wondering how they hadn't managed to find the back of the net.

A really positive half time talk from Lizzie, Mel and Jacs sent the home team out with a great attitude knowing that they could definitely take home 3 points despite the current score line.

Continued pressure from the forward line of Jane, Laura and Olivia saw Jane cut out a wayward cross from the Aylesbury defensive and coolly slot the ball home with a calm and collected finish.

1-1 and Hawks continued to press in the last 15 minutes for the winner with really positive breaks from inners Becca, Rosie and Gabs. Man of the match Jane then turned provider, feeding the ball to Olivia on the baseline who managed to squeeze the ball into the goal from an impossible angle!

2-1 to Hawks!

Aylesbury weren't going home without a fight, and in the dying minutes and keeper Megan was called upon to make a last ditch save from a one on one.  A brilliant effort from the young keeper ensured that Hawks took all three points and have now moved to 5th in the table.
