Marlow started the game well, and in the first minute, Olivia made a super save. Our captain was a beacon of hope, glowing brightly across the pitch as an epitome of leadership as her fake tan twinkled in the dull winter sun.

Hawks had complete control of the game for the first 15 minutes. The first goal came from an amazing set play: with a good transfer from Georgia to Ellie across the pitch in the right corner; she passed it neatly to Lucy who held her width wonderfully, straight up to Emily Wilkins. Emily skilfully crossed it across the top of the D to find Katie Lowe who confidently smacked the ball past the GK. 1-0 to Hawks.  Just before halftime, Em Court received the ball on the 25, and dribbled past a couple of Marlow players into the D and slotted it on her reverse into the bottom right hand corner. 2-0 Hawks.

Hawks continued from the off to pile on the pressure, winning a short corner early on. With a well worked routine, Helen Nicholson slapped the ball perfectly to the end of Claire's stick, where it was perfectly netted to bring the score to 3-0.

With good attacking play that started at the back from Lucy and man of the match Vicky, Hawks transferred the ball cutting through the middle to Laura Scragg, eliminating Marlow's midfield. Laura dribbled into the circle with some pace, and hit it perfectly to Claire, who once again calmly deflected the ball into the net. 4-0 hawks.

With brilliant play soaking up some pressure from Marlow, the midfield stood strong through Helen and our bright captain Kara Kerr and we continued to pass it out to our halfbacks who found space ahead of them. In another positive attacking play, Kara Kerr found the ball at the top of the D and with some wee silky skills, eliminated half the Marlow team and slotted the ball on her reverse into the goal. 5-0 to Hawks.

A scrambled 10 minutes from Hawks resulted in a final passage of play from Marlow who won a short corner and unfortunately scored from it: final score 5-1 to Hawks. A great result and team game to finish the first half of this season and set us up for the next year.

A big farewell and good luck to Georgia Perkins; we will miss you massively, especially your silky skills and enthusiasm in the warm up!
