A battling performance and commitment in trying conditions

28 November 2015, 16:00, Banbury Road North (Top)

Men's 7s 1 - 5 Bracknell Terriors

The result of 5 goals to 1 was a little harsh as the wet and windy conditions did not dampen the spirits of the Hawks Players.

The standard of Hockey by both teams was pleasing to the eye and Bracknell broke the dead lock with a well worked move. The Bracknell 2nd was a reverse stick into the roof of the net suggesting the inside left may have played before!

Whitey then pulled of a piece of individual skill on the left by-line with sublime 3D skills and placing the ball in front of an empty net for OJ Webb to finish to make it 2-1.

The game then ebbed and flowed and Bracknell showed they had a solid well organised defence which made clear cut chances had to come by. However Whitey and OJ gave everything. Inevitably Hawks were caught napping on a couple of occasions and were very unlucky as a short corner was deflected leaving an easy chance for Bracknell to finish with 5 goals.

Despite the result Laurie Cooke, Bradley Fogden and Ollie Dunn linked superbly and with the backs of Dan Evans and Charlie Warner improving every week the team will grow through the season.
