The Men's 2s Disappointing Home Form Unfortunately Continues

21 November 2015, 12:00, Banbury Road North (Near)

Men's 2s 1 - 7 West Hampstead Men's 1s

After a fantastic 5-0 win away at Woking last week, Hawks were looking to build upon their recent form with a home game against West Hampstead.

The first 10 minutes looked promising, with Hawks putting some good phases together. However poor turnovers from the back and midfield resulted in three quick goals for the visitors, and Hawks failed to convert a penalty corner at the other end. By half time West Hampstead were 5 goals to the good, with more sloppy play from Hawks.

A change of formation at half time, with three at the back, Hawks began to get back into the game, creating numerous chances but still failing to convert. A well taken short corner, with a good flick from Andrews, meant Hawks pulled one back. Despite this, West Hampstead scored two more breakaway goals.

Full time, 7-1, a disappointing result. Although West Hampstead deservedly won, the score does not reflect the balance of play. Lots to work on, as we prepare for Trojans away next Saturday. 7 of our 8 points have come away from home…
