A good game for the crowd with 10 goals and a home win

22 November 2015

U14 Boys 6 - 4 Oxford U 14 Boys

Hawks Under 14 A team v Oxford/Wallingford A

Hawks under 14 A team welcomed a strong team made up from the best that Oxford and Wallingford had on offer and the resultant fixture was an end to end battle of epic proportions.

Hawks were a little guilty of over dribbling for much of the first half but still played some incisive hockey with MOM Johnnie Sunderland scoring three excellent goals as a result of good hawks moves involving Laurie Cooke , Freddie Honeyman and Freddie Smith.

Hawks got a little overexcited and pushed too high and were hit on the break twice so it was 3:2 at half time.

A stern talking to at half time from coach Bear did not have an immediate effect as we still had a tendency to over dribble and our over all commitment was a little lacking.

Anton Eisner was outstanding throughout and he and Johnnie Sunderland sparked the rest of the team into life and Hawks started to compete all over the pitch and scored three more good goals two from Sunderland and one from Freddie Smith.

Oxford kept a tenuous hold onto the game by scoring two more goals but hawks held out to win 6:4

Johnnie Sunderland was the man of the match but Anton Eisner and Foxy ran him close.
