Oxford Hawks made the long journey down to Exeter but came away empty handed after a disappointing performance. The game started well, with Caro Harris almost opening the scoring in the first minute but her attempt on goal was well cleared on the line. However they did indeed score moments later when Harris's strike was illegally stopped by a foot on the line. Lucy Stewart stepped up to score the resulting penalty stroke. Isca responded well and broke quickly down the right, crossing to their centre forward who skilfully controlled the bouncing ball and slotted past goalkeeper Linda Billington. Hawks created some chances to regain the lead but good defending by the home side kept them out.
Hawks started well in the second half and regained the lead when space opened up for Henri Gordon, who drove down the left and scored past the advancing keeper. However again Isca responded quickly and broke away, passing round Billington for a simple finish. Shortly afterwards Isca changed the game, with a killer 6 minute spell where they took advantage of slack Hawks defending to put the game beyond reach with three quick goals. Hawks pushed to the end to try to get back into the game but it was all too little too late as the final whistle blew, leaving them to reflect on a very disappointing afternoon.
