L5s continue winning streak but tough match v Banbury

14 November 2015, 10:00, Banbury Road North (Near)

Ladies' 5s 2 - 0 Banbury Ladies 3s

It took some time to break through good Banbury defending and L5s had to work hard to get back to the early easy passing that was so successful last week. Finally after great passing between Hawks payers and a few attempts on goal we were awarded a short corner. The second goal was scored from a short corner by Lotty with some brilliant working around the D by the forwards. Banbury made a number of breaks in the first half but were always channelled or the ball was cleared from their attacking D with the defenders, mids and inners working well to ensure this.
Hawks continued to dominate in the second half and effectively moved the ball across the full space of the pitch.  A  further strike on goal was deflected in from the corner by Rachael. There were a number of more short corners  won by Hawks with some great strikes but no further goals scored. Hawks maintained the clean sheet with a few breaks but no shots on goal by Banbury in the second half.
Man of the match was Kim again for sterling work in the centre. Jane and Jess were close runners up.
