Hawks U14A Girls met a determined Oxford side in their England Hockey Girls U14 Midlands League match.  Much of the game was spent in the Hawks attacking half, but congestion in the D made scoring opportunities hard to come by – that and an impressive performance from the Oxford keeper who denied Hawks on numerous occasions.  At half-time, in gloomy drizzle, the teams were still tied 0-0.

In the second half play became more open, creating space for the Hawks forwards to work with.  Constant pressure finally paid off with a well-worked team goal, Row and Holly showing some slick passing interchanges in the build-up before Imogen’s clinical finish.  The second Hawks goal followed soon after, Izzy S turning neatly on the ball before directing it through a crowd of Oxford defenders into the far left corner (see photo!).
