A Tough afternoon but a learning experience

07 November 2015

Men's 7s 0 - 7 Sonning Men's 5s

In an afternoon where a trip to Sonning would prove a test lived up to its expectations.

The first half showed the character of the Hawks players as despite conceding 2 goals, chances were created which could easily have seen the score even at the break. Dan Evans, John Black Jnr and Laurie Cooke kept going throughout the game and with Smith, Chambers and White demanding the ball there was stiff resolve going into the 2nd half.

An early break down and a quick 3rd goal for Sonning then left Hawks with a mountain to climb. Both Roger and Ollie Dunn faced wave after wave of attack and Felix the cat in goal was kept busy.

Plenty to learn from the game and Sonning were good for their win but perhaps the score was a bit flattering.
