Lets say we didn't really get out the blocks today - we were 4-0 down within 10 minutes (probably less) so actually finishing only 5-1 down at the end was a testament to not giving up and we worked hard to try and get back in the game. It seemed a relatively even contest after the opening spell although it should be said Leighton Buzzard fully deserved their victory - running hard and winning a lot of the 50/50s. Tim Webster was full of running again and covered a lot of ground in the midfield. It was good to see Gary back despite him seeing double at the end - hopefully no harm done. Josh did well in goal and wasn't at fault for any of the goals. In fact he seemed to dislocate his shoulder during one save and did very well to carry on at all. Lets hope there is no long term damage. We could talk about our goal but both the skipper and their keeper might be a little embarrassed.
We haven't had many defeats in the last few years, but actually you always learn more from them than winning comfortably, so lets look forward to next weeks game at Abingdon.
Thanks to the umpires and Leighton Buzzard for a game played in the right spirit.
