After falling 2 behind a 3-3 draw earns 1 point when 3 looked on
31 October 2015, 14:30, Banbury Road North (Top)
Men's 7s 3 - 3 Oxford Men's 8s
Playing into the sun in the first half Hawks failed to find any pattern of play. With little intensity or pattern of play Oxford seized the initiative and scored 2 goals, and could easily have taken the game away from Hawks.
However the team are developing every week and have an ability to raise their game. So it proved with George Chambers and John Black Jnr providing the catalyst. Both began to press the opposition and look to exploit their speed and determination to drag Hawks back from the brink.
Goal from Richard Walsh and a superb strike from the top of the D by John Black Jnr put the sides level.
The game began to open up and Hawks pressed higher up the pitch and got their rewards as they took the lead 3 -2 with a will Smith strike.
This looked to be enough as resolute defence and great goal keeping kept Oxford at bay. However a short corner in the last minute was re-taken and as the ball fell to the left of the goal the Oxford player was able to lift the ball into the goal.
On balance a fair result, but disappointing not to hold on for the win.
