On Saturday the Ladies’ 3s were up against a difficult Worcester Ladies’ 1s in the last friendly game before the start of the season. Despite a new combination of girls playing together, the team we able to coordinate well, with a particularly strong first half.
The first 30 minutes saw open play goals from Phoebe Malcolm and Gabs McErlain with assists from Emily Taylor and Emily Black respectively, yet saw Worcester being equally fruitful in their goal scoring to bring the score to 2-2 at half time.
Worcester persisted in the second half, leaving Hawks with very little time on the ball, often forcing our heads down, allowing them to score a further two goals on the counter-attack to give a final score of 4-2.
A lot can be taken away from Saturday’s game with a few specifics to be worked on during training.
Man of the match was awarded to Emily Taylor.
We are looking forward to uncovering this team’s potential this season in their new league.
