Good game, marked by a KP Shirley lookalike goal (who it should be said, has been the most committed of the 6's squad this season), and some good performances by young players (Gilman excepted.. the youth that is...)
Highlight was an exceptional debut by Nav Aithani, who the skipper had spotted playing a rather "rustic" form of school hockey, but when transferred to the adult pitch, he produced a a man of the match performance at half back, among some decent players in the 6's final game.
Kiran Patel again came close to MoM with two goals, and generally, helped by the busy Gilman in the middle, Hawks outplayed a spirited and young Marlow side.
Matt Rogers also played a good game at right half, and, alongside both junior Spittles and the less junior Ashley Robbins, there was some great hockey played, especially in the second half.
We missed some of Mr Elliott's glaring misses, although Charles did his best to fill in for him!
Many thanks to Jonny Atkins who probably kept us in the league this season for his excellent keeping, and to the wide array of players that have been pulled in to the team this season, as we have inevitably had to plug holes / support the new 5th team who manged to gain promotion.
Thanks to Ben Morris and Hugh Bentleyy for umpiring.
