Hawks started extremely brightly, arguably the best ten minutes of hockey Hawks have played all season.  The ball was moved swiftly around the pitch, with lots of movement off the ball passes were easily found. The Uni side were chasing shadows, Hawks were in an aggressive mood, quickly winning back the ball after losing possession. The home side won two shorts in the opening phase, the first was blocked by the number one runner, the second corner was converted by Jack Biggs. Hawks second goal came shortly after, Man of the match Ethan Chapman drove into the D to see his backhand shot saved by the keeper. Sniffer Ben Wilson was on hand to pick up the rebound and calmly flick the ball into the net. It was looking good until Will Phillips received a yellow card for not retreating 5m. This was a game changer, Hawks played deeper allowing Uni time on the ball. Uni were no mugs, with plenty of ball players Uni had a good spell of their own.  Uni. won a short corner which was well taken, flicked just inside the post. With 5 minutes to go of the half, Hawks lost the ball in midfield and were penalised by conceding a second.             Half time Hawks 2  Ox. Uni. 2   The second half was nip and tuck, Hawks looked the most dangerous and deservedly went ahead after good work down the left was rewarded with a Kit Cutter near post put in. Second half possession stats, the game was probably even, however Uni posed little threat. Hawks always looked like the winning team.  With ten minutes remaining and a win on the cards Hawks were sucked into technical foul in their own 25 by not being 5m from the ball. Short corner awarded which the Uni scored.  Final score Hawks 3 Oxford Uni 3.
