The Falcons welcomed back Dave Blomley and Richard Wilsdon from the slopes of some snow covered mountain and also the skipper Dave Hughes turned out still injured, but needed to make the numbers. John Black kindly doubled up after playing in the morning to add some pace to the attack.
The Falcons nearly took the lead in the first minute as Russ Warner's short corner shot was defected by the skipper to John Kaluza whose shot at the post was somehow saved by the keeper who played well throughout.
The pressure finally told and Russ Warner opened the scoring as he found the bottom left corner with a firm shot. The Falcons went close through Hughes, Warner and Black but finally the lead was doubled as Black turned in a shot which was going wide at the right post.
The half time score was 2 nil but the Falcons did not look to be troubled and Wokingham has not even mustered a shot but any breakaways were dealt well with by Dick Heinrich and Richard Wilsdon acted as an extra sweeper for any loose balls that got through to him.
The 3rd goal soon came and the game as a contest was done. The combination of Russ Warner and Steve Griffiths resulted with Russ Warner's direct pass being defected by Griffiths on the penalty spot high over the keeper. Griffiths added his 2nd from another pass from Warner, this found him with the easy task of pushing the ball into the empty net after the ball alluded the keeper. Steve Griffiths added his 3rd as he was fed on the top of the D and did not waste and time and hit a rising shot past the hard worked keeper.
Dave Hughes, who had been sharing the game with another injured player Mark Crampton Smith, came on for the last 10 minutes and after good work from John Black who passed back to the skipper to smash just above the back board to make it seven. There was time for John Kaluza, who was probably borrowing Warner's stick from the previous week, to miss two glorious chances and finally for Warner to dispossess Wokingham's best player and shoot though the legs of the Wokingham keeper for his hat trick and to win the man of the match award just from Steve Griffiths, who also played very well.
