Men's 1s 2 - 7 Sevenoaks Men's 1s

Hawks trip was always going to be a tough one against National Indoor finalists and second in the league Sevenoaks. With a number of players missing through unavailability and injury Tim Martin donned his boots to earn a few points for his fantasy league supporters.  The game was pretty even with neither team stamping authority. Sevenoaks scored a well worked goal after overloading down the right. Sevenoaks scored a second, Hawks were awarded a short corner just as the whistle blew for half time. Jack Biggs fired the ball wide. Half time Hawks 0  Sevenoaks 2.

Very shortly after the start of the second half Sevenoaks scored two quick goals to go 4 – 0 up. Dom Roche retired hurt, it would have been easy for Hawks to throw in the towel, Hawks showed their character, rode a bit of a dodgy patch and came out fighting. MOM Dan Rhodes drove the team on. All gets a bit cloudy, in the last 15 mins Sevenoaks scored 3 and Hawks deservedly scored 2.  A crisp strike from Kit Cutter to score his tenth goal of the season and deflection by Ben Wilson.  Final score Hawks 2 Sevenoaks 7, on paper a bit of a beating, in reality the game was far closer than the scoreline.  There is no doubt Hawks are playing better hockey and with three games to go, can finish in style.
