On Saturday Ladies' 1s made the short journey to Gloucester, and started promisingly, opening the scoring after seven minutes as Lucy Stewart finished a well worked corner routine. However Gloucester responded well and levelled after fifteen minutes as they drove down the right and pulled the ball back for their centre forward to finish well. The home side scored twice again in quick succession, through clinical penalty corners, but Hawks pulled one back as Lucy Millington finished well after good work from Abi Flory down the right. Just before the break Gloucester struck again, when their centre forward pounced upon a poor clearance to smash the ball into the corner of the goal, leaving Hawks with a lot of thinking to do at the break. However the second half continued in similar fashion, with Hawks not quite firing on all cylinders and unable to take advantage of some of their good work in and around the area. They were punished twice in the last 8 minutes by Gloucester who sealed the win with an open play strike and another penalty corner strike.
