Hawks had a difficult trip to Spencer. The M40 was shut at Wycombe and the M4 was nose to tail. The game started with both teams enjoying good passages of play. Hawks played at a high intensity, sometimes overcooking, suffering quality with a high number of turnovers. Hawks shaved the possession but it was Spencer who went ahead after converting a short corner. Hawks pressed well and really should have been rewarded after Ben Wilsons legs appeared to be taken from under him by Spencer keeper. Hawks looked the better team but went into the break 1 : 0 down.
The second half belonged to Hawks, led by MOM Ethan Chapman in midfield Hawks looked the better side. They should have drawn level, a ball flashed across the D was missed at the far post with the keeper beaten. Spencer were limited to a few individual offensive runs. Hawks deservedly drew level after Ben Wilson deflected a ball hit into the D. A one on one with the keeper was missed. Final score Hawks 1 Spencer 1. Hawks can take heart from a vastly improved performance from last week.
