Hawks 5s defeated away at Banbury
06 December 2014
Men's 5s cancelled Banbury Men's 3s
The team had an early start and travelled away to Bloxham school where gale force winds promised an interesting game. Hawks held their own for a significant portion of the first half with a fair number of assaults on the Banbury goal, however Banbury were the first on the scoresheet. Hawks continued to play well individually, but were unable to successfully find the fluid team hockey that had been displayed in many games in the first half of the season. As Banbury continued to convert, hopes of victory quickly faded and all that could be salvaged was a neat consolation goal from Paul Dunleavy, assisted by Adam Bentley. Hawks left the pitch wondering where it all went wrong, while the dugout turned sailing ship continued to pound the fence in the distance. Final score Hawks 5s 1 - Banbury 3s 9
