We made a positive start with lots of ball play, which lead to a deserved short corner. A superb strike from Lotty Hiner from the top of the D meant that Hawks flew into the lead. This gave Hawks a boost of confidence against the Maidenhead ladies and some excellent team play around and into the attacking D meant that Emma Milne finished a lovely cross from Emma Hammond, resulting in Hawks being 2-0 up leading in to the second half. However, Hawks were quite pleased for the half-time whistle to blow as Maidenhead had a few scary chances and we had slightly lost our concentration. A stimulating team talk from Henri, meant that we stepped back on the pitch for the start of the second half with a little more focus.

The second half saw the massive work rate of Emily playing inner who made some awesome runs which gave Emma Hammond a chance to break and score a wonderful goal by smashing it into the top right of the opposition goal. Jen played another awesome game as centre forward, playing some awesome triangles with Megan who played such a solid game as centre half. Megan and Susan kept the structure in the team, which lead to another goal, which Olivia deflected in after Emma Hammond smashed it on to the crossbar. The defence, Susan and Becky made some awesome tackles along with the goalie Evelyn’s saves! The final whistle blew leading to a strong 4-0 win and every single player in the team played so much better in a more positive atmosphere. Great result and now back at the top of the league! Megan rightfully deserved MOM as she was someone who always has a solid performance.
