It could all been so different if the many short corner were converted. However, ultimately it was only the goalkeeping agility and prowess of the opposition, who held the score at full time.
It all began in a very cold changing room with not an overly impressed team that had to wear soggy white t shirts due to the rain outside. After the initial wet T shirt competition, we finally braved the elements and Hawks were looking strong out on the field.
Hawks managed to lead with scoring the first two goals, an excellent first 20 minutes.
Unfortunately, a stop on the line towards the end of the first half lead to a penalty flick to the opposition, converted, Hawks still lead at half time.
Second half saw a deserving Aylesbury team score two goals in succinct fashion.
Hawks played well but could not quite make a come back and lost 3-2 at the final whistle. A crunch match by all accounts, and a very well deserved Jen won MOM for her silky skills up front.
