A buoyant and confident Men's 2s welcomed Walingford to BRN and looked to continue their winning ways.

Hawks recognised that Wallingford had the best defensive record in the league, bar Hawks, and normally finished that way also. So a goal galore was not in their minds and knew they would probably have to grin out a result.

From the whistle this was a fact that was realised, Hawks took a while to settle into their groove and offered Wallingford multiple D entries which didn't come to anything. After a shaky first 15 minutes Hawks found their groove and began to pick away at the Wallingford Iron Curtain.

However, despite long periods of possession and good dominant play from Hawks the Iron Curtain remained drawn. It had been on the Counter that Hawks have been so deadly this season and today would be no change to that. Hawks letting the opposition play into the desired areas and stealing the ball to challenge the Wallingford D.

Hawks getting into their stride controlled the game throughout the first half with Bas Marshall scoring to finish a great move and Will Phillips with 2 goals one which was a great tip-in (not of his knee) gave Hawks a surprise 3-0 lead at half time.

Hawks continued to punish Wallingford in the second half and even with tiring legs managed to score 4 more goals, W. Albers with another of his deadly reverse stick shots, M Janes with a tidy finish, Rich Craig turning in a short corner rebound and Bas adding to his second half tally. Wallingford were able to worry Hawks a little towards the end of the game but the Hawks defence and Keeper were able to keep their 5th Clean Sheet in a row. Hawks' 7-0 win was surprising but one that reflected the dominance Hawks had over the game.
