Local derby to open the season

04 October 2014, 12:00, Banbury Road North (Near)

Men's 2s 0 - 1 Oxford Men's 1s

Men's 2s looked to open the season with a win again local rivals Oxford, the team welcomed 6 new members for the season who had fitted in well during pre-season games.

The game was changed after just 10 minutes when Oxford fired the ball into the D and deflected it past Price. The rest of the game was played in typical Derby fashion, end to end, direct hockey which would have been great to watch but went against Hawk's original game plan.

After the early goal neither team were able to get any meaningful D penetrations and despite a late push from Hawks to try and earn a draw it wasn't to be.

The team could be proud of the effort that was shown on the pitch and will look forward building on the performance in the next game at Eastcote.
