At the start of the game it seemed as if Thame had the upper hand, slipping through some good balls and attacking the Hawks D on a number of occasions. Deborah, Jan and Mel put up a wall of defence throughout and Thame found it difficult to penetrate through. Purdy was on top form and kicked the few shots that Thame had on goal away with some force. After 10 minutes, Hawks began to settle and the action moved in the right direction towards Thame's D; Bella and Gail get the ball moving in the right direction intercepting a number of balls and sending them up the channels. A cross through an open goal went begging, followed by a cracking shot by Gail; however it was kicked wide by the goalkeeper. A short corner followed and a short run of play by Lotty and Buffy set up a well-deserved goal by Sarah. This was quickly followed by another goal by Rachel and a third again by Sarah. Another short corner and a deflection into the goal by Buffy and to finish this half a cracking shot from Rachel made it 6 goals.

The second half was once again dominated by the Hawks, Bella dribbled through a couple of Thame players and made a good pass in to the D with the shot going just wide. Another short corner for Hawks, fired from one twin to another, Jenny having a great game. A good run from Rachel down the wing keeps the pressure up. Clare to take the ball from sideline, Gail backs up, it really is all Hawks! Becky hits the ball from the side of the goal and scores with a cracking shot. Jessica shows some great skill on the ball and pushes the ball forward again. Another super shot from Rachel makes the score 8-0 and shortly after another goal from Rachel makes it 9-0 for Hawks - what a way to celebrate her 15th birthday tomorrow.
