Hawks made the short trip to Milton Keynes welcoming back Rob Dunnil from injury and Tom Sobey who last played for Hawks 1st team four years ago before going to Uni. The game started evenly with neither side stamping any authority. MK had a few advances at the Hawks end with no real threat, Matt Wood blasted a shot over the MK bar from close in. With ten minutes to go of the first half Rob Dunnil picked up the ball on the MK back line and calmly reverse hit the ball in the goal. Hawks had the possession but no further threat of increasing their lead. Half time Hawks 1 MK 0. The second half was similar to the first, neither side willing to take the game to the oppo. MK were fortunate to win two short corners, one being for a foul inside the 25 which resulted in a short corner and yellow card, the other a simple foot in the D. MK scored both shorts to take the lead. Hawks kept their shape and game plan, Kit Cutter picked up a ball in the MD and dispatched it with a reverse stick half volley. Within minutes Rocket Roche rocketed the ball into the rigging. Hawks took another 2 yellows before the final whistle. 3 points in the bag. Next week a sterner test against Spencer at home.
