Ladies' 1s 2 - 2 Trojans Ladies 1s
Oxford Hawks entertained Trojans on Saturday, keen to build on their strong performance from the previous week. However it was the away side who started stronger putting Hawks under a lot of pressure early on. Hawks rode out the storm and eventually settled into the game, and created a few chances of their own. However good defending on both sides kept the game goalless until half time.
Shortly after the break Trojans attacked down the right and the ball ended up with their centre forward, who turned well and struck off the back foot into the corner of the goal to give the away side the lead. However moments later Hawks levelled much to the delight of the strong home crowd, with a good move down the left of the pitch ending in a shot which was saved by the keeper. However Lucy Stewart was on hand to smash the ball in to level the scores. A few minutes later Hawks took the lead with good work from Becky Hibbert who worked the ball out left, and was then on the end of the resulting cross to deflect the ball past the keeper. However Hawks were not able to hold on to their lead, as Trojans attacked down the left, and crossed to their centre forward whose bouncing strike bobbled into the goal. Frustration for Hawks at the death but they remain one of only two sides unbeaten in the league and will be full of confidence for next weekend against Cheltenham.
