Ladies' 1s meet Magpies in the Plum

06 September 2014

Ladies' 1s 0 - 1 Harleston Magpies Ladies 1s

In their second game Hawks faced Harleston Magpies, an established National League side, and it proved to be a tougher test. Magpies almost took the lead but thanks to the diving heroics of Megan Jones on the line, the game remained goalless. Both sides created chances but no one could break the deadlock thanks to good defensive play from both sides.

In the second half, Hawks faced a barrage of penalty corners and Magpies finally took the lead from a rebound as their first strike was blocked. Hawks responded well and almost levelled at the end from a corner of their own but Magpies held on for the win.
