Oxford Hawks over 50s beat Sevenoaks Vets 3 nil on Saturday at the Olympic designed pitch at Old Loughtonians. With the backing of the travelling support; the Hawks dominated from the beginning with man of the match Gary Mahon and Rob Oldershaw winning everthing in the middle of the park with the pairing of Dave Blomley and Neil Biggs looking very comfortable at the back. The first goal came when Giles Roper was upended by the keeper and Tony Silman scored with a firm low stroke to the keeper's right.
The second goal came from an own goal, Giles Roper's cross being turned in his own net by the Sevenoaks keeper. Tonly Silman added a 3rd just before half time with a thunderous shot that the keeper barely has time to react.
Although Sevenenoaks has chances to pull a goal back but for good work from Jim Felix the Hawks looked more like to add to their lead and chances were missed by Silman, Roper, Mahon and Dawson.
Many thanks to everyone involved in all the matches and also the travelling support and big thanks to Tony Henman for helping organise the side so well.
