Hawks entertained league leaders and newly promoted Chichester to Banbury Road North. The opening exchanges belonged to Chichester, Hawks sat back allowing Chichester time on the ball, apart from a few smart saves by Phil Hargraves in goal there were few goalscoring opportunities. Chichester went ahead after an aerial ball was not dealt with, passing through two Hawks players before a Chichester forward first timed the ball into the goal, a soft goal to concede. Half time Hawks 0 Chichester 1.

The second half saw a determined Hawks team, the press was aggressive, Chichester had far less time on the ball and found it difficult to play. Cruelly Chichester increased their lead, a short corner half stopped looped over a logged Hargraves. Hawks played some good hockey, pulling one back from Ethan Chapman a fine individual goal.  Marky Mark Crowley leveled the score from close in. Chichester were not happy and clearly wanted to the finish the season with a win, some good Hawks defending kept Chichester at bay.  With 8 minutes to go Charlie Ellison scored the winner from a short corner. Final score Hawks 3 Chichester 2.

A deserved win which shows the capabilities of a team who have played good hockey for most of the season, their league position should be higher for the quality of hockey played.

Hawks are sad to see Brookes students Charlie Ellison, Matt Richardson and Steve Kelly leave the club after playing three years.at Hawks, hopefully we will see them at Hawks in the future.
