Oxford Hawks made the short trip over to Gloucester keen to continue their good run of results. Despite a strong start, Hawks conceded an early goal on the break much to the delight of the home crowd. However it didn't unsettle Hawks who continued to play good patient passing hockey, and they were rewarded with a short corner after 15 minutes. Despite some valiant defending, Bex Oakes was on hand to pick up the rebound to level the score. Moments later Hawks took the lead, when Kirsty Chapman's strike was deflected in by Henri Gordon. Gloucester continued to threaten however with some penalty corners but some top class saves from Jess Hudson ensured Hawks stayed in front.
In the second half Hawks continued to have the majority of possession, but tighter defending and solid tackling from the home side kept Hawks at bay. They almost extended their lead when a glorious aerial from Gordon found Hibbert on the left. She switched the ball to Abi Flory on the right whose cross was narrowly missed by the onrushing Katie Hewitt. Gloucester applied some late pressure but it was all too little too late as Hawks held on for the three points.
