Club Development Draw

Over many years the Club Development Draw has very successfully helped to support the continual upgrade of Hawks’ clubhouse and playing facilities – which unlike most hockey clubs we are fortunate to own ourselves.  The Draw provides a reliable and steady income stream which can be used to service sources of capital funding that are raised by the Club to help finance facility projects.  Put another way, when the Club doesn’t have capital funds ‘up front’, the income from the Draw allows the Club to raise/borrow money and to repay it over time out of the income from the Draw.  In 2008 the Draw supported the refurbishment of the clubhouse, changing rooms and showers.  In 2010/2011 the focus of the Draw was aimed at helping the Club to refurbish and resurface one pitch and to build a brand new second pitch, so that the Club now has two superb artificial grass hockey pitches on the same site as its clubhouse – a very rare set-up amongst hockey clubs in the UK.  The Draw has also helped to develop our ‘pitchside facilities’.

The next project in the Draw’s sights is some improvement and reconfiguration of the Clubhouse giving us more usable and new space.  Ideally we want the new space to allow for functions, meetings, presentations etc to be held away from the main traffic and noise in the clubhouse.

The COST OF A DRAW TICKET IS JUST £5.00 per month, payable by standing order.  In addition to winning the main prize of improved facilities at the Club, each ticket will be entered intoa weekly draw made every Saturday during the season for prize of £100.00.

So the Total Annual Prize Fund is £2,200.00, which is anticipated to equate to approximately 12½% of the gross annual income that is generated by the Draw.  Draw results and prize winners will be posted on the Club’s website and in ‘Squawks’.
