Harriers were 0-1 down but rebounded to beat Banbury 3-1

19 November 2011

Harriers 3 - 1 Banbury Development

The Harriers turned out on a cold Saturday morning to play Banbury at Bloxham. The opposition looked a bit bigger than most of the Harriers and took the lead with a smart passing move and clinical finish. However, undaunted, the Harriers showed themselves more than capable of passing the ball around slickly and deservedly equalized with a goal from Ellie.

After the break, increasing pressure finally told with two further goals from Ellie. There were excellent performances from all the youngsters with some fine stick skills combined with plenty of enthusiastic running.  The more senior team members were left somewhat concerned about their selection chances for next week…..

Thank you to Jackie for organizing the team, especially the substitution system, and well done to Lottie for helping out the defence, Olivia for some fine saves, Rosie, Emily and Anna for some outstanding running and passing through the midfield and Helen for marshalling Chloe and Ellie on the front line. A huge thank you as well to all of Violet’s new aunties for doing such a good job of the childcare.
