U14 Boys vs Aylesbury October 2011
16 October 2011, 12:00
U14 Boys 8 - 0 Aylesbury U14 Boys
The U14 first Mercian League fixture turned out to be a good season opener. The squad worked well together and maintained a strong high wide shape against a team who struggled to keep up the Hawks boys high work rate. Man of the Match Lucius Allen controlled the left half position frequently intercepting passes and channelling play. It would be fair to say all the goals scored were the result of great team work with intelligent effective passing and good off the ball moves, Ned deservedly finished with 3 well struck goals.
One player new to the team this season was overheard saying how great it was that everyone in the squad could sub in and out without changing the game credit must go to all for this commitment and hard work. The Aylesbury keeper denied Harry B, Harry Tr, Charlie and Will with some great saves. Archie Spittles, on loan from the U12s, has to be commended for keeping a clean sheet and remaining alert, all be it often alone in the Hawks defensive half, we certainly heard him on those occasions he felt the defenders had abandoned him. Many thanks to him for joining us!
