Ladies 4th XI vs Buckingham October 2011
29 October 2011, 11:00
Ladies 4s 1 - 11 Buckingham Ladies 2s
Hawks faced one of the strongest teams in the league and having no goalkeeper knew it was going to be a hard game. Our thanks go to Charlotte Cannon for volunteering to stand in goal. After a slow start, Hawks put Buckingham under pressure. Although the scoreline at half-time was 7-0, this did not reflect the effort put in by all the team.
In the second half, Hawks found their momentum and continued to put pressure on Buckingham winning a series of short corners. After some shots going just wide, Sandra Satterly managed to put one past their keeper. Hawks continued to put in 110% right up to the final whistle and the game finished 11-1. Hawks are the only team to have put a goal past Buckingham, who said Hawks were their toughest opponents so far and that we gave them a good game. A very deserved Man of the Match went to Charlotte for her bravery and valiant efforts in goal.
Thanks to Jan Davies for the photos.
